Summer Pool Fun

Hi all!

Now that International Bath Day is over and preschool's out for the summer, everyone is home! Oh...gosh...
I went to the dollar store and got a bunch of small squirt guns for my older daughter to play with in the blow up pool on my deck. I made myself a cold lemonade, slathered everyone with sunscreen and tucked my little bub into the Ergo, thinking that I'd get a minute to sit back and relax while my daughter played and snuggle up with my little guy. I showed her how to squirt the water guns but I guess it wasn't so easy--lo and behold, all she wanted to play with was her same bath toys that she plays with indoors too! Who'd'a thunk?

So, I pulled out all the old favorites and she couldn't stop playing with the Moluk Plui rain cloud, which won an award recently from the Archimedes Foundation for encouraging STEM play and teaching physics basics in honor of International Bath Day. She was entranced by being able to make her own rain with one of the best bath toys ever! It opens, so I can clean it out and it won't get moldy. Good call Archimedes Foundation! I saw that the Plui had another award too, and that the International Bath Day Gold Award was given to Alex Toys for their Bath Flutes and Yookidoo for their Flow N Fill Spout Pro, also great toys.

All in all, I enjoyed my lemonade, though I didn't really get to sit back and relax. I did get wet though! Happy pool time everyone!

Hi guys! It’s so good to be back! Today, for International bath day, instead of taking about the best bath toys and what they do for our babies, like I usually do, I’m going enjoy some grown up time! Hubby is treating me to a home spa day. International Bath Day for Mommy! WooHoo! With the new little one, it’s tough to go to a real spa (not to mention tough on the wallet), but he arranged babysitting (!) and bought me some awesome looking bath stuff, new Essie nail polish and a nice bottle of wine. I have the day completely off—kid free, and the weather is finally nice! Bye bye rainy spring, hello summer!I’m going to head to the beach, work on my tan and read a book. Seriously, a book! When was the last time I did that? I love my chick lit., and it’s just been so hard to find the time, so hubby, bless him, has made this the best International Bath Day EVER! I’m gonna be a beach bum, once I get off the computer with you all. I’m going to come home with a wicked awesome tan and sink into a bubble bath full of the lavender oil bath bomb he got me, enjoy some tea and a good glass of wine, and relax, without any spit up on my shirt. Then I plan to paint my toes one color and my fingers another.#InternationalBathDay #mommy’sdayoff #readabook #relax #bestbathtoys #bestdayever #june14

Hi Everyone! After a long exhausted pregnancy hiatus (and maternity leave!) I’m back up and running with my new Mountain Buggy Duet, XL diaper bag for two and a cutie little boy! My daughter is now a big sister! Now I’m not only struggling with my LO’s bath fighting and water resistance, but I’m bathing two. Mr. Tiny is still in the baby bath, but he’s just starting to get near sitting, and that means the big tub. I really struggle to bathe both kids though—I can’t leave either alone (duh!) and because my baby isn’t quite properly sitting, I’m worried about putting them in the tub together.

That’s where my most favorite bath toys come in handy! My Toddler is way out of the foam blocks and rubber ducks, and all the toys with holes in them had to be trashed. They were so gross.

I’ve been on the lookout for an upgrade, and I saw that The Baby Guy NYC is putting on a contest! Awesome! He’s got a few toys that look amazingly entertaining for a toddler, and they look sharable, for when peewee gets bigger. Best of all, enriching discovery for my kids, without moldy inside spaces that are impossible to clean. Now if I could just find time for my own relaxing bath…

I’m back just in time for International Bath Day, June 14! Can’t believe it’s been a year since I’d written anything! Geez Lousie!
